Position Summary The Development Coordinator is a primarily front-facing fundraising role responsible for maximizing their given portfolio using the Raiser's Edge database of over 85,000 alumni across the country. The primary objective is to help expand the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation's donor universe while supporting special event coordination and data base management. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective donors, securing new internal and external investors for HVCC, and coordinating special event donor outreach efforts. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and communication skills, preferable with sales and communications experience, and possesses a passion for philanthropy and advancing the mission of the College. ________________________________________ Duties and Responsibilities 1. Raiser's Edge Database Management * Maintains data and enters donor information in the Raiser's Edge donor management system, ensuring data integrity, timely updates, and accurate record-keeping. * Works with Advancement Operations manager and Executive Director to maintain processes for donor segmentation, tracking, and reporting to inform targeted fundraising strategies and donor engagement using TGR (Target Gift Range). 2. Annual Appeal and Donor Engagement * Manage a small portfolio of annual appeal donors. * Support the Foundation's appeal process * Implement automated and personalized touchpoints (e.g., holiday greetings, birthday messages) to deepen donor relationships. * Support the tracking, evaluating, and reporting on appeal performance to optimize future campaigns and increase donor retention. 3. Board Liaison and Engagement * In consultation with the Executive Director and Foundation staff, provide operational support to the Board of Directors to serve as supporting body to the Foundation's strategic priorities. * Attend meetings, take minutes, schedule committee meetings, prepare agendas and relevant materials for Board. * Develops Board and Committee calendars in accordance with Foundation By Laws. * Assists with updates to the Foundation Board Handbook policies, procedures, and bylaws as directed by the Executive Director. 4. Special Events Coordination * Collaborate with the team on the planning and execution of key foundation events, including the annual gala and golf classic. * Along with Advancement Operations Manager, support event logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure successful and cost-effective events. * Work closely with volunteers, sponsors, and other stakeholders to maximize event attendance and overall fundraising results. 7. Other Duties as Assigned * Perform additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Executive Director. * Support broader HVCC Foundation and college initiatives as needed. ________________________________________ Qualifications * Education: * Bachelor's degree required in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or a related field. * Master's Degree preferred with comparable experience in higher education advancement * Experience: o 4+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, advancement operations, or similar roles. o Demonstrated expertise with Raiser's Edge (or comparable donor management systems). * Skills and Competencies: o Strong organizational and project management skills, with a meticulous attention to detail. o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with board members, donors, and colleagues. o Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making. o Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. * Attributes: o Committed to advancing the mission of Hudson Valley Community College and its Foundation. o Flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced environment.
