Position Overview:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern will support ongoing DEI initiatives by creating processes that help inspire, develop, and lead diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various projects, research and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) activities.

Where you will work:



  • This opportunity offers the flexibility to work from your home office or a nearby Astound office, or a combination of both.



A Day in the Life of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Intern:



  • Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and communication efforts for DEI-related initiatives, including Heritage Month events and other diversity-focused programs.
  • Provide logistical support for planning and executing DEI events, meetings, and briefings, ensuring all details are accurately tracked and completed on time.
  • Conduct research on current DEI best practices, trends, and emerging strategies, relevant to the telecommunications and cable industries.
  • Contribute to the development of new approaches for training programs, policies, and procedures to enhance and continuously improve DEI programming.
  • Provide administrative support for events, meetings, and briefings including scheduling, tracking RSVPs, and developing and distributing materials for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as needed.
  • Participate in all internship activities and events planned.
  • Assist in brainstorming and planning creative topics for DEI-related speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and panel discussions.
  • Help design and update DEI-related pages on the intranet and the external website, ensuring content is relevant and engaging.
  • Draft documents, presentations, and templates aligned with DEI and ERG initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.



    What You Bring to the Table:



    • Experience managing projects or tasks with deadlines, demonstrating the ability to work in a structured environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Suite.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in time-sensitive situations; aptitude to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
    • Willingness to learn, take initiative, drive projects forward, and ask questions.



    Education:



    • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in DEI, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, or related field.



    Compensation:

    The base compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. The base pay represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job.
