Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a proactive team member to perform General Accounting duties in support of financial operations. Daily and monthly responsibilities include general accounting, inventory accounting, customer invoicing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and special projects.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

The Financial Operations Specialist is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the financial and operational functions of the Service Center. Key responsibilities include general accounting, inventory management, customer invoicing, payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and participation in special projects. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, efficient operations, and compliance with company policies while contributing to the achievement of the Service Center's financial objectives.

Financial Planning and Reporting

  • Provide support to plan for and achieve Service Center financial objectives.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Regional Finance Manager with financial and operating matters, including annual operating plans, budgets, and revisions.
  • Deliver efficient and timely financial reporting by adhering to the IPS accounting framework and company policies.
  • Participate in the monthly close process, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory counts, including observation and valuation.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports as requested by management.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Provide support to plan for and achieve Service Center financial objectives.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Regional Finance Manager with financial and operating matters, including annual operating plans, budgets, and revisions.
  • Deliver efficient and timely financial reporting by adhering to the IPS accounting framework and company policies.

Inventory and Material Management

  • Provide support to plan for and achieve Service Center financial objectives.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Regional Finance Manager with financial and operating matters, including annual operating plans, budgets, and revisions.
  • Deliver efficient and timely financial reporting by adhering to the IPS accounting framework and company policies.
  • Participate in the monthly close process, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory counts, including observation and valuation.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports as requested by management.

Customer and Vendor Management

  • Submit new customer and vendor forms for approval and setup.
  • Set up and maintain customer ship-to locations, including seller updates and tax rate configurations.
  • Review warranty jobs and close them as needed.
  • Monitor internal jobs for material costs and make necessary corrections.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Support administrative staff with general office activities, including filing, phone duties, and mail handling.
  • Close jobs in the ERP system and perform related closing activities, such as journal/register updates.
  • Submit Capital Expenditure (CapEx) requests and close-out forms as required.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

  • Drive ongoing improvement by ensuring adequate internal controls and accurate reporting in compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) initiatives.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial operations, or a similar role, preferably within a service center or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Preferred: Certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is a plus.
