Research Billing Accountant

Job Summary

Assist the Research Finance Billing Integrity team by reviewing Epic research billing work queues, decreasing team accounts receivable by posting checks into our Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), increasing Research revenue by invoicing studies out of our CTMS, maintaining accurate and complete data in building clinical studies into our CTMS. Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries. Our team is growing and needs help providing high-level financial assistance to our researchers.

Essential Functions
  • Work with various systems (Epic, Workday, Clinical Trial Management System) that support the Research Billing Integrity team.
  • Apply a basic working knowledge of Epic's overall functionality and use here at Corewell.
  • Reconciles research participant data, with in Epic, our Clinical Trial Management System and Workday accounts.
  • Reviews and analyzes research project's financial data from our Clinical Trial Management System and Workday to prepare financial reports to leaders and researchers.
  • Participates in process improvement activities.
  • Collaborates with other employees within and outside the Research Institute to compliantly track activities related to our research projects.
  • Responsible for handling high volume of work with changing priorities and constant interruptions and establish priorities and deadlines required
  • Utilizes personal computer skills, functional experience with integrated software systems, and applies proficiency in Microsoft office applications to support daily operations
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal direction required

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience typically gained through related accounting experience and working knowledge
