We are searching for a talented Pharmacist - Oncology

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 7:00am - 4:30pm; On call once every 5 or 6 weeks

Location: Cancer Center - Fairhaven, MA

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Manager, Pharmacy Oncology or designee, perform a variety of professional services and responsibilities related to the clinical review and dispensing of outpatient chemotherapy. Serve as a resource for nurses, physicians and other clinicians who participate in the management of hematology, oncology and other patients receiving care at Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care. Understand and work on clinical trials. Provide technical direction and supervision of assigned personnel. Communicate with patients and other health care professionals to optimize medication therapy.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy is required.
  • A Registered Pharmacist licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy is required.
  • Experience working in USP 797/800 environment is required.
  • Previous oncology experience is preferred.
  • One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
  • Consideration is given to new graduates.
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy is preferred.
  • Additional clinical duties include, but not limited to participation in brown bag clinics including drug interaction checking and management of side effects as well as providing education to staff thru inservices, case presentations, etc.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
