As the WSO Gene Coatings Team Manager in the Desert Region Unit, you will be responsible for supervising and managing a diverse team of industrial coaters personnel. Responsibilities include quality assurance and oversight of work including abrasive blasting, coating application, leak repair (including concrete cracks), and mortar lining. Work is performed in the shop and in the field. You will provide emergency response as directed by C&D Management, ensure staff is trained in the supervised trades, and maintain training percentages. You will also track and maintain equipment permitting and ensure equipment is being operated in accordance with the permits. You will provide review and comment on project documentation, including engineering contract, drawings, shop drawings, and inspection requirements, prepare cost estimates, requisitions for project materials, equipment and services. You will collaborate with Safety, Regulatory, and Training (SRT) staff in reviewing and applying OSHA regulations concerning safety and the proper use of equipment, including large forklifts and overhead cranes, collaborate with Engineering, WSO, CSU, MSU, and other MWD working groups and teams to assure work product success. You will perform personnel-related activities including employee recruitment, performance evaluation, career development, and empowering employee involvement in planning and decision-making. As the Coating Team Manager, you will prepare an annual budget for the Team and perform monthly variance explanations.

Schedule: 4/10 M-Th 6:00am-4:30pm

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equaling 8 years of increasingly responsible experience, of which 3 years must have been in a project management, supervisory or lead position. An example of a combination of education and experience would be:

A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and 8 years of increasingly responsible experience, of which 3 years must have been in a project management, supervisory or lead position; OR

An associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school and 6 years of increasingly responsible experience, of which 3 years must have been a project management, supervisory or lead position; OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of increasingly responsible experience, of which 3 years must have been in a project management, supervisory or lead position.

Relevant Experience is defined as: Having journey level experience in Industrial coating.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
