We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Group Lead to join our Moorpark, CA team. You will use your knowledge to coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of the equipment maintenance team for emergent and ongoing work to ensure business goals are met. You will use your skills to improve safety within the department and to prioritize project work to meet future factory initiatives. You will utilize your background and maintain/improve upon preventative maintenance processes across the site and work towards a pitstop model to improve line uptime. You will utilize Lean tools (RCCM, 5-whys, A3, etc.) to improve uptime trends and reduce costs.

You will:

  • Maintain and operate a safe environment for the maintenance team.
  • Be actively involved in safety, 5S, and housekeeping within the team.
  • Develop an annual training program that incorporates upskilling and preventative maintenance of equipment that can be tracked through a training matrix.
  • Establish a preventive/predictive maintenance program with focus on equipment, downtime, and lean manufacturing.
  • Participate in the design and building of automation and fixtures.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to upgrade equipment optimizing the potential of factory 4.0.
  • Maintain and utilize the work order system through Maintenance Connect.
  • Facilitate daily operations within the department including supervision of the maintenance personnel, daily work planning, and establishing a coverage schedule.
  • Operate and maintain a budget for maintenance.
  • Focus on continuous improvement using problem solving and key measurements to monitor and document process and progress.
  • Work with vendors and contractors on emergent and ongoing improvement projects.
  • Work closely with the TLs and other department GLs to resolve downtime issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Full ability to read and communicate in English. (Spanish a plus)
  • Full ability to use computers including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    Minimum of 7 years related work experience as a maintenance/industrial team lead, 5 years of experience as a maintenance/industrial supervisor, or comparable field with supervisory experience.
  • Full ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Full knowledge of safe work practices including but not limited to:
    • Hazardous materials awareness with OSHA's Right-to-Know standard.
    • Fork truck /PIT certified.
    • PPE requirements
    • Fire safety
    • Lockout/Tagout procedure
    • Hot work procedure
  • Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology. Responsible for identification of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen events
  • Participate in the development of current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans, as well as the implementation of those plans across the value stream.
  • Be highly visible to associates and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities within the assigned area to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
  • Perform shift change-over communication.
  • Execute and track shift performance using MDI boards, daily, ensuring root cause analysis and counter measures are identified.
  • Assure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions.
  • Assist with safety investigations as needed.
  • Perform 5S audits/safety audits/safety training.
  • Responsible for training new associates and monitoring standard work and quality standards.
  • Perform layered safety, LEAN, process, and quality audits as assigned.
  • Manage resources of the assigned areas of the value stream
  • Ensure accurate movement of inventory through their assigned area - transactions, Maintenance Connect reporting, inventory audit completion and resolution of negatives, etc.
  • Develop system to drive preventive maintenance tasks are completed in timely manner and properly reported in Maintenance Connect.
  • Provide input and make recommendations for requisitioning, placing, and training of employees assigned to designate production area.
  • Where applicable, coordinate vacation time, attendance tracking, and overtime coverage.
  • Responsible for assigned team's adherence to company policies and procedure. Perform coaching and recommend disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Lead assigned employees.
  • Development and communication of complete, fair, accurate and meaningful employee performance reviews.
  • Ensure cross training of employees is conducted for development and skills matrix is updated.
  • Ability to back up and assist maintenance techs.
  • Full ability to read mechanical blueprints.
  • Full ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
  • Intermediate to full ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.
  • Ability to identify root causes and make recommendations for improved operation.
  • Full ability to operate maintenance equipment including hand and power tools.
  • Full computer skills to use Smart Maintenance CMMS.
  • Ensures effective communication between shifts and team by following documentation procedures and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $67300 - $125000 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
