About HRIMA: Human Resource Information Management and Analytics (
HRIMA) provides a comprehensive suite of core HR services and support, including:
- HR data management, compliance, and stewardship
- System enhancement planning, testing, and technical training
- Project management and process improvement
- Reporting and analytics
- Employee records management
- Timekeeping and leave system support
- Data quality assurance
HRIMA collaborates with college and divisional HR representatives to develop, maintain, support, and enhance HR applications such as:
- PeopleSoft HR System (MyPack Portal)
- PeopleAdmin - Position Management & Applicant Tracking System
- ServiceNow HR Service Delivery System (HRNow)

Essential Job Duties |
Position Overview:
The
HRIM Business Analyst is essential for the effective functioning of HR systems that deal with
position management, applicant tracking, and background checks. This position involves working closely with campus stakeholders and the
Enterprise Application Systems (EAS) team to facilitate technical development, conduct system testing, and troubleshoot technical issues. Furthermore, this role acts as the main point of contact for
NC State's background check vendor.
Key Responsibilities:
As an
HRIM Business Analyst, you will be at the forefront of HR technology solutions, shaping efficient workflows and supporting critical decision-making processes.
In this role, you can shape HR technology solutions, streamline processes, and support data-driven decision-making. Your contributions will directly impact HR efficiency and user experience across campus.
System Maintenance & Support:
- Ensure optimal performance of position management, applicant tracking, and background check systems.
- Troubleshoot issues, escalate concerns, and collaborate with EAS and vendors to resolve them.
- Conduct regular system maintenance, ensuring security and compliance.
- Address system-related risks and contribute to enterprise risk mitigation strategies.
Data Management & Quality Assurance:
- Maintain data integrity through regular audits and data correction processes.
- Support data quality initiatives by running queries, analyzing data, and resolving inaccuracies.
Process Improvement & Project Management:
- Lead the implementation of system mandates from Federal/State laws and UNC System policies.
- Drive enhancements and new HR processes related to position management, applicant tracking, and background checks.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing HR processes and implement efficiency-driven changes.
- Oversee project management for system upgrades, feature rollouts, and process changes.
User Training & Support:
- Develop and deliver training programs for HR staff and system users.
- Provide hands-on education and on-demand training solutions to enhance user proficiency.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Generate advanced analytical reports to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain HR metrics and dashboards for tracking system performance and utilization.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a key liaison between HRIMA, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
- Gather business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and oversee system enhancements.
- Ensure system configurations align with business needs and optimize user experience.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on HR processes and system configurations.
- Manage program documentation, issue tracking, and end-user training materials.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Masters degree or a Bachelors degree plus two years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Other Required Qualifications |
- Ability to facilitate project meetings and communicate in writing and verbally to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Knowledge of application systems analysis and the ability to translate technical programming languages.
- Ability to and comfort working with large data sets.
- Strong experience working with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Knowledge of project management and leadership fundamentals and methodologies
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM
- Experience with supporting PeopleAdmin applications - Position Management and Applicant tracking System
- Knowledge and ability to use PeopleSoft SQL for reporting
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
