Title: Operations Turnaround Coordinator
Location: Freeport, Texas

Salary: $94,000 - $105,000
Schedule: 9/80's; 5-8's

Focus: This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all activities for planned startups, shutdowns, and events that meet turnaround criteria within the Freeport Chlorinated Methane Products (CMP) unit.

The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.

Operations Turnaround Coordinator Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring development of detailed Turnaround job scopes, value-added maintenance work orders, work inventory (including preliminary job plans and cost estimates), schedule, resources, control of turnaround job add-ons, and development of plant segmentation/clearing strategy.
  • Responsible for Environmental, Health, and Safety performance of the Turnaround and ensures any applicable plans, procedures, and processes are developed and implemented for the outage.
  • Integral member of Turnaround Core Team working with applicable Operations, Maintenance, Turnaround, Project, and other Expert Partner roles to coordinate Startup/Shutdown timing and plan for outages. Primary communication focal point for the Operations portion of turnarounds.
  • Ensures all Operations turnaround tasks are planned and completed according to schedule, including retrieving, developing, and/or compiling plans and procedures for shutdown, clearing, isolation of energy, safe work permitting (plans, process & location), monitoring, re-commissioning, and startup.
  • Ensures adequacy of all turnaround plans and operating discipline, including ensuring Management of Change requirements are followed and any applicable Operational Turnaround training requirements are met. Ensure Operational activities are linked to the official turnaround schedule.
  • Ensures plant specific startup/shutdown shift change process is followed, including completion of application notes in logbook and plant status meetings occur at every shift change until normal plant operation is attained.
  • Conducts formal post reviews of operational aspects of all facility turnarounds to identify and incorporate operational improvements for future outages to improve run-to-run cycle time.
  • Works closely with the department Activity Coordinator/Gatekeeper (AC/GK), Mechanical Integrity Coordinator, and Plant Assessment Team to ensure mechanical integrity compliance and proper maintenance for the facility in Turnaround outages. Serves as backup AC/GK when needed.
  • Assists department with other non-turnaround special projects, as assigned by the Production Leader, including but not limited to demolition and capital project implementation.

Operations Turnaround Coordinator Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Associates Degree* preferred
  • 3+ years of related manufacturing or turnaround experience; Olin experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Willingness to be on-call for plant maintenance issues
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and possess a valid US driver's license
