Job Description

GDS has an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead to join our consulting team within the Power Supply department. The ideal candidate would have a desire to learn or expand business fundamentals in the electric utility industry and will assist in providing consulting services to publicly owned and privately-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, industrial companies, municipalities, government agencies and solar and storage development companies. This position will include support to our consulting team for a variety of unique and challenging projects in the areas of power supply planning, contract negotiation, cost-benefit analyses, market pricing studies, and resource proposal solicitations. In addition, our team is involved from coast-to-coast with a growing number of renewable supply and sustainable planning projects. Familiarity with these types of service offerings and work products is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Planning and coordination of subtasks for project work.
  • Delivery of complete and accurate subtasks to project supervisor.
  • Limited client interaction as directed by senior staff.
  • Develop draft communication for clients in the form of models, reports, and presentations.
  • Carry out complex project assignments that require advanced knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other team members and other departments.
  • Latitude for independent judgement.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, or similar energy industry-related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to conduct independent research.
  • Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience in power supply portfolio management concepts is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the evaluation of solar and storage proposals is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus.
  • Ability to work from or relocate to the Marietta, GA corporate office is a plus.
