Position Summary

The Privacy Specialist is an integral role at MultiCare, responsible for ensuring privacy reports and security breach case investigations, reporting, monitoring and improvement efforts. In this role you will ensure adherence to all organizational policies and procedures at MultiCare Health System.

Responsibilities


  • You will oversee privacy event triage and investigation duties
  • You will input and triage privacy inquiries and allegations according to protocol
  • You will prepare and complete all steps necessary to resolve privacy and security incidents as assigned
  • You will prepare summaries and data from department software to provide insight


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, social sciences, legal, business, or clinical field required OR a Bachelor's degree in unrelated field plus two (2) years of healthcare experience may be accepted in lieu of degree in one of the above listed fields
  • Professional compliance or privacy designation, such as Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance, HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Professional, or Certified Compliance Professional preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of healthcare experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year of HIPAA compliance, investigatory, or legal experience required
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $75,941.00 - $109,262.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
