Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Division seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Wauna Paper Mill in Clatskanie, OR. This role focuses on implementing electrical projects and supporting the maintenance team. The engineer will follow a framework that includes concept, design, installation, and optimization. Key responsibilities include partnering with maintenance to provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for electrical infrastructure, ensuring safety and efficiency.

What You Will Do
* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for mill facilities and work processes, enhancing operational efficiency while supporting compliance, safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
* Participate in safety assessments and investigations to uphold safety standards and mitigate risks, ensuring contractor safety and coordination during construction phases.
* Manage projects, including electrical systems, by addressing gaps identified by audits and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Produce, review, and verify engineering design details to meet standards and manufacturing requirements, and assist in developing scopes of work and project execution strategies using the management of change process.
* Provide field support for engineering, construction, startup, and commissioning activities, ensuring successful implementation and operation.
* Develop and review preventative maintenance tasks for electrical systems, establish appropriate frequencies to prevent failures, and perform root cause failure analysis to identify and resolve issues.
* Provide technical and engineering support to maintenance and operations teams to optimize safety, quality, and performance.
* Address field engineering challenges related to electrical systems that fall outside the typical scope of a planner but do not require full-scale project engineering, focusing on practical solutions.
* Conduct small-scale engineering tasks, including load calculations, motor sizing, and equipment and drive upgrades, with a focus on variable speed drive enhancements and operational efficiency.

* Perform engineering tasks driven by operational requests, collaborating closely with operations, planners, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
* Experience implementing NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC).

What Will Put You Ahead
* Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering
* Pulp & Paper industry experience.
* Project Engineering Experience
* Electrical or Instrumentation planning experience.
