Medical Records Coder 2

Inova Health System is looking for a dedicated Medical Records Coder 2 to join the HB Coding Operations team. This role is Full-time working daytime hours Monday to Friday | REMOTE.

This position is eligible for remote work for candidates residing in the following states - VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV.

Medical Records Coder 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Achieves production expectations as outlined by the Coding Operations Director and Coding Manager.
• Obtains CPT, APC, ICD-10-CM, Modifier and Evaluation/Management code accuracy.
• Meets coding productivity standards as established by the Coding Operations Director and Coding manager.
• Ensures the accurate/complete assignment of Evaluation/Management codes that are supported by medical record documentation for Outpatient records.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Medical Records Coder 2 Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule: Full-time working daytime hours Monday to Friday | REMOTE.
• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent and completion of an AHIMA-approved coding or health information technology program.
• Experience: At least one year of recent coding experience in an acute hospital.
• Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or CPC-A certification completed upon start.
