What's involved in this role: We are looking for a Cheese Lead in Lake Norden, SD. The Cheese Lead is responsible for working with the Production Supervisor to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the cheese plant. Fill in for employees in case of absence as needed. Monitor all production paperwork for accuracy; including Intake, HTST, Vats, Belts, Packaging lines and Towers for accuracy. Check to ensure pre-ops are completed and that MSS and SSOPS are followed during production. Starting at $32.57/hour 12-hour shift, rotating monthly between nights and days: 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am $1.50/hour night shift differential pay Holiday pay and double time on Sunday What you need to join our team: Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience, preferably in a food/dairy environment, required. Experience with troubleshooting equipment preferred. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software. Able to exchange basic informational data (fill out forms/checklists, copy data from one record to another, etc.); interview to gather information; advise others on alternatives/options; coach and counsel others; read, understand and explain technical data. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with colleagues in English. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Where you'll be working: Our Lake Norden, SD, plant is home to approximately 450 employees and boasts a brand new, state of the art cheese and whey facility. We produce mozzarella, provolone, parmesan, romano, asiago, and Monterey Jack cheeses as well as various whey streams. Agropur's US operations produce 1 billion pounds of quality, award-winning cheese each year.
