This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which servesthe telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines our stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Job Purpose

Data Center Project Manager - Maintenance" is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance projects within a data center facility, ensuring the smooth operation of critical infrastructure by coordinating repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance activities while adhering to strict timelines, budgets, and compliance standards; requiring a strong technical understanding of data center systems, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and optimize data center efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and execute comprehensive data center maintenance plans, including preventative maintenance schedules for all critical equipment (servers, cooling systems, power distribution, network infrastructure).
Prioritize maintenance tasks based on equipment age, criticality, and potential impact on operations.
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to schedule maintenance windows with minimal disruption to data center operations.
Project Management:
Lead and manage maintenance projects from initiation to completion, including scope definition, budget planning, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing any deviations promptly.
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and compliance requirements during maintenance activities.
Technical Expertise:
Possess in-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure components like UPS systems, cooling systems, electrical power distribution, fire suppression systems, and network infrastructure.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to data center equipment, coordinating with technical specialists when necessary.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices for data center maintenance.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors providing maintenance services, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and quality control.
Evaluate vendor proposals and select the best options for cost-effective maintenance services.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain clear communication with data center operations teams, IT staff, and other stakeholders regarding planned maintenance activities and potential disruptions.
Conduct regular status updates on maintenance projects and address any concerns promptly.
Reporting and Analysis:
Track and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
Generate reports on maintenance performance, including cost analysis and equipment reliability metrics.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience managing Preventative and Reactive projects for all equipment within the data center.
  • Electrical License Preferred
  • Proven experience managing data center maintenance projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure components and their maintenance requirements
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with data center industry standards and compliance regulations
