Senior Electrical Engineering Inspector

STV is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Inspector for our Transportation Northeast department out of the Old Saybrook and Old Lyme, CT area locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site inspections of rail electrical systems, including traction power, signal power distribution, and lighting, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents specific to rail systems, including overhead catenary systems and third rail power.

  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address field issues related to rail power distribution, grounding, and protection systems to ensure timely project completion.

  • Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records of work performed, including testing and commissioning results.

  • Ensure adherence to rail safety protocols, industry best practices, and electrical codes such as NEC, NFPA 130, and AREMA standards in all inspection activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering inspection, preferably in rail transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of rail electrical systems, traction power, signal power distribution, and construction inspection procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents related to rail infrastructure.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a field environment.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple project sites as needed.

Compensation Range:

$64,848.58 - $86,464.77
