Staffing Coordinator Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS), in determining the staffing needs of the nursing department. In addition, the position requires the development of the weekly schedule for the home health aides, while making adjustments as needed according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-ins and per-planned absences.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Develop Nursing Department schedules according to assigned block schedules, assuring there is adequate staff for each shift.
  • Have the 'on-call' staffing phone with you on evenings and select weekends to ensure proper work coverage is in place should scheduled staff call out.
  • Filling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Assist the CNSin ensuring adequate staffing levels on a day-to-day basis.
  • Update daily posted schedule as needed; prepare daily posted schedules in advance for weekends and days off.
  • Track and coordinate PTO and other staffrequests.
  • Facilitate general orientation for nursing department employees to communicate nursing department policies and set training schedule and block schedule.
  • Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes such as forgetting to clock in/out.
  • Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule.
  • Back-up as a home health aide (preferred)


Job Type:Full-Time; 5 days per week; dayshift

Wage:$16.09 - $20.09 hourly

Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Previous experience in staffing or HR is a plus
