Description The Metrology Technician is a key member of the Quality team that performs measurements of components and communicates results with cross-functional teams. Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's core values in daily interactions with internal and external customers Conduct measurements and testing on components, assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and standards. Analyze measurement data to ensure accuracy and precision, and troubleshoot measurement discrepancies. Generate reports and documentation of findings Measure, collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement activities Perform calibration, adjustment, and maintenance of measurement instruments and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and other metrological equipment. Perform basic calibrations and verifications of production equipment per work instructions or similar documents Coordinate outsourced calibrations and verifications Support product launches and ECN activities as assigned Support manufacturing requirements, including assembly and test, as assigned Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness Other duties as assigned Associate's Degree in Metrology, Engineering, Quality or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Quality and Manufacturing experience helpful. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Proficiency in using various measurement tools and equipment, including digital calipers, micrometers, and CMMs. Able and willing to actively pursue certification or is an active certificate holder in American Society of Quality's (ASQ) Professional Development program. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and maintaining equipment. Active Listening - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate Reading Comprehension - understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Able to interact with all types of people in a professional and respectful manner Ability to travel on a limited basis on an as needed basis. Made to Manage (ERP) Software experience beneficial Able to work varied hours on 3 shifts to accommodate company and team needs Able to lift up to 35 lbs. Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift. Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts. Light manufacturing environment Fast-paced, team-oriented environment Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting Required to work shift hours (four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days) with occasional overtime |
