Job Summary:

The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for leading and managing an asphalt paving crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of asphalt paving techniques, and the ability to coordinate equipment, materials, and personnel on-site.



Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Supervise and direct asphalt paving crews to ensure productivity and quality work.
  • Plan daily operations and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor and maintain asphalt quality and compaction standards.
  • Communicate with the Superintendent, Project Managers, and other stakeholders regarding project progress and any issues.
  • Conduct pre-job safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, equipment operators, and laborers to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during paving operations.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment, and material usage.
  • Train and mentor crew members to improve efficiency and performance.

Hourly Range is $33/hour-$37/hour



Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Extensive knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of construction safety regulations (OSHA).
  • Experience operating paving and compaction equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using mobile construction management tools is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing large asphalt paving projects.
  • CDL or other relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, MOT).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
