What You Will Do:

Johnson Controls has a great opportunity for a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in New Freedom, PA, where you will conduct design, simulation, prototype testing, reliability testing to confirm the product operates as expected with reference to specific documented hardware requirements.

Johnson Controls Advanced Development and Engineering Center (JADEC)

How You Will Do It:

  • Maintain and test printed circuit boards, which contains MCU, FPGA and other circuits, for chiller application.

  • Conduct prototype testing on hardware-in-loop system, variable speed drives and chiller to verify control performance.

  • Conduct Variable Speed Drive (>250KW) testing at Dyno or on chiller.

  • Collect waveforms using oscilloscope or/and data using power analyzer.

  • Data analysis using MATLAB script and understand FFT results.

  • Analyze VSD performances using testing results.

  • Provide guidance/support to product technical support team and PCBA manufacturing factories as needed to maintain existing and/or NPI products.

  • Understanding and complying with quality policy, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Need:
Required

  • BSEE or BSCE, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Familiarity with the usage of oscilloscope, power analyzer, differential probe and Rogowski coil.

  • Experience with data collection using scope and power analyzer.

  • Familiarity with the concept of Fourier Transform Analysis and use it on test data analysis.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule driven, team-oriented environment.

  • Positive team player, strong verbal and written communication.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Variable Speed Drive (VSD) testing at dynamometer.

  • Capable of working with VSD having three phase 460VAC inputs.

  • Good understanding of power electronics and motor control. Experience with motor control.
