Work Schedule

The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department.

Job Summary

Plans, manages and oversees the implementation of Career Services programs and services. Implements Career Services and job placement activities for students. Works with business, industry, and external partners to establish employment opportunities. Coordinates employer interviews and career fairs.

Essential Functions

50% - Advises students and graduates on job strategies; assists students with resume and cover letters. Creates and implements career development workshop series, participates in District-wide Career Services and Career Council meetings
20% - Implements career services and job placement activities for students and graduates; tracks success rates, prepares reports
10% - Coordinates recruitment events to include employer interviews and career fairs
10% - Updates marketing material and media presence, provides training as needed
10% - Works with businesses, industries and external and internal (District Career Services personnel) partners to establish employment opportunities. Connects with students via social media. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or directly related field and four years of student services or related experience. (Reference Position Specific Responsibilities above to determine experience in area of assignment)

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's Degree or higher earned degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on Counseling
B. Experience working in an educational setting
C. Experience providing oversight and supervision of staff members
D. Experience working with budget planning/financial management and development
E. Experience using computer and web-based technology in the delivery of programs and services (i.e. online databases, Microsoft Office, and internet resources).
F. Experience working in career or employment and job placement services (Linkedin, Indeed, etc.)

Special Working Conditions

May be required to work at multiple sites or locations and travel locally, provide evening coverage and occasional weekends. May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing computer monitor. This position is in person but may attend some meetings and provide workshops remotely
