About the Role
Talgo, Inc. is seeking a Shop Manager - Electrical to lead and oversee electrical manufacturing and commissioning operations. This position involves supervising the electrical team, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving efficiency in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on train sets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical and commissioning teams (Supervisors & Team Leaders).
- Ensure compliance with FRA, OSHA, AAR, and company safety regulations.
- Plan and oversee electrical panel, equipment, wiring, and system installations.
- Develop daily production planning to meet project goals.
- Initiate and implement production, safety, and employee morale improvements.
- Provide budget recommendations to the Production Manager.
- Monitor and manage parts, supply usage, and tool availability.
- Function as a technical expert on all electrical systems for train sets.
- Assist in training and development of electrical technicians.
- Coordinate with other shop managers to align department activities.
- Interpret and implement engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Utilize business and work order management software (SAP).
- Supervise hiring, training, performance evaluations, and employee management.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, troubleshooting, or industrial electrical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC power systems, schematics, and control systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word); SAP experience is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Work schedule includes occasional weekends and emergency travel.
