Ocean Spray is Now Maintenance Technician at the Tomah Processing Plant. The plant sits on 140 Acres and is 75,000 square feet and produces Sweetened Dried Cranberries (Craisins). The Maintenance Technician position is a 12-hour rotating shift from 4am-4pm with rotating weekends off with a starting pay rate of $33.28. The position is a year-round position, working indoors with three 30-minute paid breaks.

Job Description Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance activities within the team. Using the principles of total quality management to execute the work of preventative maintenance and repair equipment and actively participate in project development and training. Accountable for effective communication between management and team to maximize effective maintenance engagement practices.

Job Responsibilities:

* Work includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting complex equipment, reading and interpreting manuals and work orders, maintaining a clean, safe work environment, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Serves as maintenance in the service of the equipment, to ensure optimal performance; responds to equipment process concerns; prioritizes work orders, PM/CM as needed.
* Adhere to schedules and operational procedures including safety precautions related to the equipment and for performing assigned tasks. Take appropriate actions and make recommendations to ensure a safe working environment. Performs safety checks on equipment prior to the season of operations; perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance; perform diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures.
* Participates in daily maintenance projects and tasks.
* Participated in preparatory meetings for maintenance day overhauls and cleans.
* Perform follow-up checks to repairs made the previous day.
* Report all Production equipment safety and operational hazardous findings to the EHS and Maintenance. Manager and generate follow-up work orders to the appropriate department for resolution.
* Maintain adequate supply of inventory for projects.
* Report on project progress and/or concerns, workloads, schedules and/or interruptions to the schedule.
* Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
* Provides support in the development of short- and long-range plans.
* Support the development of Maintenance SOP's.
* Inspects and records work performed.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Two (2) years of related experience, or any equivalent combination and experience.
* Any combination of education, training and experience, which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as, described, including progressively responsible journeyman - level experience in a trade; work experience as a job foreman such as an electrician, machinist, millwright, welder, plumber, fitter etc.
* Strong electrical skills.
* Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials and tools used in equipment maintenance.
* Ability to maintain effective preventive maintenance programs, policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of project work and principles, practices, and equipment. The expectation is to eliminate outside contracting work in the building.
* Knowledge of safety precautions used in all the facility's equipment. Uses proper lock-out/tag-out, confined space, and hot works permit to maintain a safe environment and comply with EHS regulatory procedures.
* Skill in installing and repairing equipment and systems.
* Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals.
* Skills in troubleshooting problems in mechanical systems and recommend corrective actions.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, and representatives from all levels.
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
* Participate in major/minor installations and manages stock and ordering of parts, tools, and materials needed.
* Participate in PM/CM process.
* Must be able to lift low to heavy weight (10 - 60 Ibs.) materials and carry 50 - 60 lbs occasionally.
* Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during the eight- or twelve-hour shift.
* Must be able to climb ladders and traverse catwalks
* Good interpersonal skills associated with the need to work constructively in a team environment.
* Ability to assume responsibility and work 8 or 12-hour shifts as required.
* Ability to operate computer and CMS systems.
* Ability to manually operate equipment.
