Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for verifying and keeping records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, movement of product stored within and outside the facility, overseeing the preparation of items for shipment, and supervising the warehouse material handlers. In addition, the position ensures efficient, organized use of the warehouse.

Essential Functions:



  • Ensure all ERP shipping and receiving related transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner in the ERP system, including but not limited to the below listed items.
  • Review production schedules, sales orders, and material shipping dates, type, volume, and destinations. Ensure that product orders are pulled, staged, and ready for shipment. Process paperwork including shipping labels, bills of lading, and packing slips.
  • Assist in obtaining freight quotes. Schedule shipping carriers for pick up and monitor dock traffic.
  • Check freight invoices for accuracy and approve for payment.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Oversee and ensure accuracy of receipts for all incoming product including transfers, purchase order items and non-purchase order items
  • Ensure proper distribution and storage locations of all incoming items is correct.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of necessary Cycle count protocols.
  • Supervise unpacking and examining of incoming shipments, report damaged items and shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measuring incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, or other records.
  • Able to work independently, efficiently manage time, and use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Displays proficiency in duties of all direct-reports.
  • Employ effective, respectful and persuasive spoken and written communication skills.
  • Implements continuous improvement programs using problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Functions effectively in a fast paced, diverse, team environment.
  • Ensure all work in process (WIP) is properly identified.
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all current company policies.
  • Ensures effective staffing, wage, and performance decisions.
  • Ensure effective employee relations.
  • Maintain highest levels of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate basic computer equipment and peripherals as well as company standard software.
  • Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.)
  • Ability to effectively read, interpret and communicate industry and customer specific documentation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Motor Vehicle Record Check
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.


Environment and Physical Demands:



  • A traditional work week (M-F) with MDI core hours. Work during Non-traditional hours periodically required.
  • Works in a typical office setting which includes;

    • Continuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking.
    • Occasionally lift, reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch


  • Frequently works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, odors and temperature fluctuations).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently walk, stand, crawl, climb, twist, grasp and pinch.
  • Specific vision requirements.


Other:



  • Some travel within the state and limited outside of state.
