Title:Online and Adult Learning Intake Specialist Division: Provost's Office Department: Online Learning FLSA Status:Exempt Salary Range:$40,000/Annual Salary EEO Job Group:2 E2 Position Summary The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications forOnline and Adult Learning Intake Specialist.This is an in-person position located in Evansville, IN. The Online and Adult Learning Intake Specialist is responsible for providing guidance to prospective online and adult learners (typically 25 years or older) throughout the recruitment and admissions processes. As a key member of Online and Adult Learning, this position will process applications, transfer applications and readmission applications for adult learners. This position reports to the Director of Online and Adult Learning. Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists and advises online and adult learners with the admissions process, including providing initial information regarding financial aid or other tuition assistance.
- Assists with implementing a comprehensive recruitment and communication plan for online and adult learners.
- Evaluates records of online and adult learners seeking admission and/or readmission into university programs, maintain records, and monitor online and adult learners' application progress and renders a decision on status of application when appropriate or makes referral to program director/coordinator.
- Provides guidance regarding admission policies and procedures to prospective online and adult learners.
- Provides information on academic offerings, and online and adult learner services of the University while evaluating the educational and career goals of the prospective learner.
- Assists with the development of marketing and advertising strategies for online and adult learner populations. Suggests and/or implements enhanced marketing tools, including e-communication and other admission literature.
- Participates in University online and adult learner recruiting activities. Activities may include but are not limited to community college visitations, college fair participation, visits to military installations, employers, etc. and personalized communication (telephone and email).
- Monitors measurable goals and objectives for online and adult learner recruitment and application submission.
- Makes referrals as appropriate for non-credit courses, certifications or trainings.
- Keeps current with University policies, procedures, and curriculum changes.
- Provides back up support to other areas through cross-training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of university degree programs, policies, procedures, resources and population.
- Possess excellent customer service and effectively communicate with online and adult learners and other stakeholders.
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments and teams.
- Ability to interpret, apply and abide by the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and confidentiality issues.
- Valid driver's license, or alternate means of reliable transportation.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- One year of admission experience at the counselor level or equivalent.
- Understanding of comprehensive online and adult learner support in an educational environment.
- Entry-level knowledge of financial aid services and requirements.
- Knowledge of military voluntary education program requirements, SOC processes and tuition assistance.
- Entry-level knowledge of the principles of career counseling and marketing.
- Previous experiences with a Customer Relations Management (CRM) tool, especially Slate.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
- This is an in-person position located in Evansville, IN.
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Irregular work hours, including nights and weekends, may be required to meet with prospective online and adult learners and during special programs/events.
