Job Summary

To ensure that all operating equipment in plant, pertaining to the processing of raw material is performing adequately and to monitor such activities in a safe and efficient manner on a continuous basis.

Main Responsibilities
  • Visually and audibly monitor all plant processing equipment before, during and after operations.
  • Assist in the repair of the plant.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork daily
  • Physically check operations on a regular basis. This involves traversing conveyors and different plant levels using ladders and catwalks.
  • Carry out plant objectives set forth by the Plant Superintendent.
  • Responsible for the plant and employees in the Plant Superintendent's absence.
  • Perform minor routine lubrication of equipment daily - requires the lifting of grease lubrication containers (approximately 15 lbs.).
  • Track the plants maintenance and service schedules
  • Order all necessary parts for the plant
  • Fill-in for any absent plant employee
  • Keep the yard watered
Skills
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Must hold a Mine Foreman's Certificate (state of Ohio) or be able to pass the necessary written exam.
  • 1-2 years Non-Metal Mining Experience
  • Knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Acceptable Driving Record
  • Willingness to learn, take direction and follow safe work procedures
  • Willingness to work weekends and long hours during peak season
  • Drug and alcohol free
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground to the waist
  • Ability to sit or stand for hours at a time
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Ability to work in high and sometimes confined spaces
