The Role:
Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) team who thrives in a collaborative environment with diverse, fast-moving projects where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are paramount.
In this exciting role, the Sr. Engineer, New Product Introduction Engineering will be responsible for developing new, high purity, solid precursor delivery containers for advanced node chemistries for the semiconductor industry. The role will also develop infrastructure that supports the builds, maintenance, and quality of the delivery containers. This position will also participate in the development of 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks of complex delivery systems, subassemblies, support equipment and precursor containers. The ideal candidate will exhibit the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment focused on safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
This position will work cross-functionally with a diverse engineering team, chemists, field service, and product marketing managers. There will be frequent communication with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and members of the supply chain. Responsibilities include system architecture, knowledge of semiconductor industry standards, completing drawings for components, subassemblies and 3D models for quoting, purchase orders, and then perform hands on building of prototypes to evaluate fit, form, and functional performance of those assemblies.
This job opportunity is in our Round Rock, TX facility but will require occasional travel to Burnet, TX.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate project timelines with NPD management
- Assist and guide other engineers with their ongoing and new projects
- Lead projects and coordinate timelines with a larger group
- Hands-on component assemblies for subassemblies and support equipment
- Manage change through cross-functional partnering in a global environment
- Develop factory in fracture to support container builds, cleans, capacity and quality improvements
- Support alternative site factory build out - Entegris is building advanced deposition materials capabilities in other countries, this role will support the build out
- Confirmation of component fitment, tolerance stack up, functionality, ease of assembly and use
- Create required documentation for new and modified containers and sub-components including drawings, bills of material, and part numbers
- Quoting components and ordering parts directly with machine shops and outside vendors
- Support 2D drawings of components, subassemblies and bills of materials that are up to ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards
- Work with the engineering team to create new part numbers, ECRs and other support documentation
- Work safely and drive process improvements
- Listen actively and solve problems in a structured manner
What We Seek:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field or related experience is required. A Master's degree is a plus
- Demonstrated experience (4+ years) of increasing responsibilities
- Experience with SolidWorks & SolidWorks PDM is required
- Working experience with GD&T; Proficient with (GD&T) and the impact on product cost and reproducibility
- Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/A) experience
- Travel of up to 20%, both domestically and internationally, may be required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities
- Experience working directly with machine shops to understand capabilities
- Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- Demonstrated experience within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry
- Handling of air sensitive compounds
- Experience developing and implementing continuous improvement projects for product performance and/or cost (value engineering)
- Understand Materials of Construction and how they interact in contact with corrosive chemicals
- A fundamental knowledge of Material Science (material stability, material compatibility, etc.) and thermodynamics (vapor pressure, mass flow, etc.)
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and associated software
- Experience with chemically inert coatings and method of application onto metallic surfaces
