Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Safety and Health Supervisor to support our Northwest Service Center locations Portland, OR. The Safety Supervisor will support the development and implementation of both essential safety and health initiatives, as well as support site EHS capability development. Essential safety and health (S&H) programs include but are not limited to: Lock-Tag-Verify, Fall Protection, Mobile Equipment, Incident Investigation, Emergency Response, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Personal Protective Equipment, Line Break Equipment Opening, Confined Space Entry, Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and Save My Life work permitting.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Northwest Service Centers operates two large distribution centers in the Portland, Oregon area. We ship and receive approximately 95,000 trucks each year, carrying your favorite brands including Quilted Northern Bath Tissue, Brawny Towels, Dixie plates, cups and bowls, as well as other items found in public establishments, including enMotion towels and dispensers. What You Will Do
* Support multiple facilities with Environmental Health and Safety management
* Assist in the development, implementation, and compliance of site specific EHS programs, policies, procedures and associated training materials
* Assist in the development and delivery of S&H and Compliance regulatory and company required training
* Provide a visible safety presence in the field with operations, maintenance, and contract work groups
* Serve as subject matter expert for projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable S&H requirements
* Lead and participate in risk assessments, building knowledge and capability throughout the organization
* Lead and participate in incident investigations, enhancing capability throughout the organization to conduct effective investigations that focus on learning and improving our capacity to fail safely
* Lead and provide support to risk reduction prioritization by leveraging the company risk assessment process.
* Coach and mentor personnel to facilitate ownership of S&H and Compliance at all levels of the organization
* Provide leadership to the site team, including compliance system owners (CSOs) to ensure maximum value creation
* Support, implement, and maintain Environmental programs to include SPCC, EPCRA, Hazardous Waste Program, and other routine environmental inspections
* Perform tasks in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and company Quality, Safety, Health, Environment and Energy policies and procedures

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Experience in a dedicated safety role within an industrial/manufacturing facility
* Experience and working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
* Experience with administration of regulatory compliance programs and training

What Will Put You Ahead
* Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering
* Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
