Title: Release Manager

Clearance: Current, or have the ability to obtain an ICE EOD and TS-S/CI clearance

Location: Remote

Overview:

IntelliBridge seeks an experienced Release Manager to lead and oversee the release management lifecycle for the RAVEN program at DHS ICE HSI. This important role requires an understanding of release management principles and practices. By focusing on planning, scheduling, and coordinating releases, you will ensure the timely deployment of high-quality software solutions that enhance the capabilities of HSI. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and business stakeholders, to manage risks, resolve issues, and maintain the integrity of the live environment.

Your role will balance the technical and business aspects of software releases, driving efficiency, and ensuring the successful delivery of value to end-users. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in release management, utilization of tracking and documentation tools, and continuously improving processes to support the program's goals.

Clearance:

  • Current, or have the ability to obtain an ICE EOD and TS-S/CI clearance.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Plan, Schedule, and Coordinate Releases:
    1. Develop and maintain the release management process, ensuring alignment with the program's objectives and timelines.
    2. Plan release windows and cycles across the RAVEN program, coordinating with various teams to ensure readiness.
    3. Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews to ensure all aspects of the release are prepared and approved.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    1. Identify and mitigate risks that could impact release scope, quality, and schedule.
    2. Resolve challenges and issues that arise during the release process, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    3. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement contingency plans proactively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:
    1. Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to coordinate release activities and ensure successful deployments.
    2. Facilitate effective communication between teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with the release plans and requirements.
    3. Provide regular updates on release activities, progress, and issues to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Utilization of Tracking and Documentation Tools:
    1. Develop and implement release tracking and documentation tools to streamline the release management process using Jira, Confluence, and Service Now.
    2. Leverage excellent communication practices to enhance coordination between development and operations, reducing time to deployment and improve release quality
    3. Maintain documentation to track key information such as build and release procedures, release details, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
  • Continuous Improvement and Team Development:
    1. Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations.
    2. Continuously improve release processes by analyzing performance metrics, gathering feedback, and implementing best practices.
    3. Establish and track release-related KPIs to gauge the effectiveness of the release management process.
    4. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
    5. Lead by example, demonstrating accountability, reliability, and a commitment to high-quality work.
    6. Advocate for release management best practices within IntelliBridge and among clients, promoting the value of effective release management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 5 -7 years of experience working in a development environment
  • 3+ years of release management experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and professional customer service demeanor.
  • Comfortable working with Jira, Confluence, and Service Now
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills; team player.
  • Strong organization skills, flexibility, collaboration, and coordination.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Project Management skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities without loss of efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe Certification
  • Experience in Software Development, Quality Assurance, or Security
  • Experience developing or supporting AWS services
  • AWS Cloud Certifications
  • Experience working with CI/CD platforms
