As a Manager of Product Development at Epicor, you will lead a team of developers with a strong focus on database management, optimization, and cloud-based solutions. You will oversee database administration strategies, ensure sustainable system performance, and act as a key liaison between technical teams and business functions. Your expertise in database technologies and cloud environments will be instrumental in driving innovation and long-term success.

What you will be doing:
  • Leading a team of product developers with direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful execution of database-focused objectives.
  • Providing timely and clear work direction, mentoring developers, and reviewing deliverables to maintain quality standards.
  • Overseeing cloud and database strategy, ensuring best practices for performance, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Establishing functional database requirements and reviewing solutions to ensure they align with organizational needs.
  • Collaborating with business functions, identifying challenges, and proactively resolving database-related issues.
  • Selecting and overseeing the implementation of software development methodologies tailored for database management and optimization.
  • Identifying staff training and development needs to ensure expertise in modern database technologies.
What you will likely bring:
  • Strong technical acumen with hands-on experience in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database management.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with Azure preferred.
  • Moderate understanding of database administration principles, including performance tuning and sustainability best practices.
  • Knowledge of database-as-a-service (DBaaS) solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to work as a liaison between technical and business teams, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to foresee challenges within complex database systems.
  • Passion for product development and innovation, particularly in database-driven applications.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members, ensuring high performance and knowledge growth.

  • Prior experience as a Database Administrator Manager or in a similar leadership role focused on database optimization.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing database-focused development teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, cloud-based database solutions for enterprise applications.
