Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Adams School of Dentistry, established in 1950 and made possible by an Act of the North Carolina General Assembly in 1949, is now part of a dynamic Health Science campus! The school provides oral health care to more than 90,000 patients each year and provides additional in-kind services totaling more than $3.6M annually through four student-led free dental clinics and other charitable care events. With more than 6,400 living alumni in 27 nations and all 50 states, the school's impact to oral health in North Carolina, throughout the U.S., and around the world is unprecedented. Adams School of Dentistry is at the forefront of oral health care, education, research and leadership. We are one of six health science schools (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Public Health) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and we are the first dental school in the state of North Carolina. The
ASOD consists of seven (7) Academic Departments: Biomedical Sciences, Craniofacial and Surgical Care (Craniofacial Center, Geriatrics/Special Care, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Oral Medicine), Restorative Sciences (General Dentistry, Operative & Biomaterials and Prosthodontics), Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health, Orthodontics, Diagnostic Sciences (Oral Microbiology, Orofacial Pain/Sleep, Pathology and Radiology) and Periodontology, Endodontics and Dental Hygiene

UNC Adams School of Dentistry Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health provides oral health care for individuals from infancy through adolescence and promotes the prevention of oral disease for individuals of all ages. |
Position Summary |
The Adjunct Professor will be expected to engage in Course Instruction in the graduate and predoctoral pediatric dentistry programs. The successful applicant will be an experienced dental educator and should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, leadership traits, and a commitment to values of the Adams School of Dentistry and the University of North Carolina. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
DDS,
DMD or equivalent degree, advanced education in pediatric dentistry, Board-certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, evidence of teaching experience |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Demonstrated experience in a comparable academic setting |

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities |
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities. |
