WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

As the Subject Matter Expert for Process excellence in Laboratory services, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of regulatory and operational processes and documents within HLA.

Oversee and serve as the escalation point for complex process development, review, and implementations for Laboratory Services. Ensure that implementation and defined activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives within the HLA process.

You will ensure that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meet goals and objectives of the business unit, and monitor operational execution post implementation, including testing and validation processes.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD

  • Propose, develop, review, and approve operational processes and policy documents; including but not limited to regulatory items, document releases, and annual review of line of service and organization-related documents.
  • Research, review, and manage complex process, system, and policy implementations. Resolve issues with the appropriate unit, subject matter expert or process owner.
  • Provide escalation point for issues arising between departments and review and approve various communications plans and committee/council charters for critical cross-functional systems.
  • Prepare, research, and approve specifications documents and standard procedures for implementation, monitoring, and approval; including but not limited to equipment requirements or equipment life span plans with applicable work locations.
  • Ensure compliance with a variety of organizational and system documents, which could include new regulations, manufacturer's direction changes, emerging issues, recalls, and suspensions. Review reports for supplies, equipment, process, and deficiencies.
  • Research, prepare, and review validation plans and policies for new processes, equipment, and supplies.
  • Oversee monitoring of supplies, equipment, and materials. Provide relevant approvals for RFI and RFP recommendations to purchase equipment, supplies, and material.

Pay Information:

The salary range for this position is $96,800-120k

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

This position can work remote, anywhere in the US.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science required
  • Minimum 7 years of HLA experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities; effectively analyze problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications preferred.
  • May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout Red Cross system

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

  • HLA software knowledge is a plus (HLA)
  • SSDM Experience is a plus
  • Red Cross HLA experience is a plus
