The University of Arizona's Dean of Student's department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill their Senior Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Programs.

The Senior Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Programs serves as the primary advisor to the Interfraternity Council, Greek Standards Board, and other student-led organizations, providing guidance and support to enhance their leadership and impact. Through strategic advising, leadership development, and community engagement, the Senior Coordinator empowers students to navigate challenges and create positive change. This position plays a key role in shaping a thriving and accountable fraternity and sorority community.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and addresses complex issues within the fraternity and sorority community, using innovative and creative approaches to develop solutions that promote accountability, leadership, and positive change.
  • Advises the Interfraternity Council, Greek Standards Board, Philanthropy Advisory Board, and Order of Omega utilizing a challenge and support approach to empower student leaders to strengthen their organizations, navigate complex issues, and enhance their impact.
  • Responsible for developing and leading campaigns that promote awareness and educate the fraternity and sorority community on key topics, such as domestic violence and sexual violence.
  • Oversees critical departmental student-centered programs, including the Hunter White Health Advocate Program and teaching Advocates for National Greek Leadership & Education, while assessing their effectiveness.
  • Assists with leadership development programs, including Great Greek Weekend, and supports student delegations at the Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values conferences.
  • Sends communications to chapter advisors under the guidance and direction of the director.
  • Ensures a strong social media presence on Instagram by overseeing the department's content strategy and providing guidance to the social media student intern.
  • Manages the submission process for required chapter paperwork to maintain compliance with department and university policies.
  • Serves on the hazing hotline on-call rotation, responding to reports and concerns. Completes projects as assigned by the director for special initiatives and events, supporting departmental priorities and goals.
  • Engages in professional development opportunities offered by the University of Arizona to enhance professional skills, knowledge, and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of the fraternity and sorority life industry and student development theory.
  • Knowledge of leadership development strategies and educational programming.
  • Skilled in advising and mentoring student leaders and organizations.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and problem-solving in complex situations.
  • Skilled in social media management and content creation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that support student growth and development.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and risk management within student organizations, including hazing prevention.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. A master's degree completed by the time of hiring may be considered equivalent to a combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience in advising fraternities, sororities, or student organizations, particularly at a large public institution.
  • Experience with crisis management and risk mitigation within student organizations.
