OBGYN encompasses the triad of academic medicine: leadership in patient care, teaching of medical students and resident physicians, and the pursuit of clinical and basic science research.
The Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery currently includes 1 board certified sub-specialty physician, one physician assistant, and 2 nurses. The Division has rich opportunities for growth in both clinical, teaching and research contexts. |
Job Duties |
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking a Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery sub-specialist. Department is offering a 12-month fixed-term or tenure-track appointment at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor. The department supports a four-year, fully accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology and provides education for medical students on a continual basis.
The physician hired will participate in all areas of patient care and teaching provided by the Department of
OBGYN. This position will see patients in the ambulatory and hospital setting. The clinic is set up to support urodynamic testing, cystoscopy, and
GYN ultrasound.

Contingent upon availability of funds.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the
UNC Optional Retirement Program (

Minimum Education/Experience |
Candidates must possess an MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution and conferred by the time of hire, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for
ECFMG Certification, be eligible for practice in the State of North Carolina by the time of employment and qualify for medical staff privileges at
ECU Health Medical Center.
Candidates must also be board certified or eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with sub-specialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. |
