Position Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Accounting professional seeking to take their career to the next level with a well-established and expanding company. In this senior-level position, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of manufacturing operations, including product costing, inventory management, and reporting. Your expertise will be critical in identifying cost efficiencies, refining pricing strategies, and providing insights that contribute to the company's overall financial performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and enhancement of the Cost Accounting system
  • Establish and maintain cost standards for all manufactured goods
  • Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable recommendations for cost control
  • Oversee inventory accounting to ensure accurate reporting of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies with financial records
  • Manage the accounting of scrap, rework, and obsolete inventory
  • Prepare comprehensive cost reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for senior management
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff in maintaining cost accounting functions
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Assist with audit preparations and respond to audit inquiries
  • Opportunities for career progression into an Accounting Manager role
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs
  • Perform additional duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in cost accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation preferred
  • Proficient in using ERP systems for cost accounting, with Microsoft AX experience being ideal
  • Strong background in cost control, variance analysis, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounts and their relation to financial statements

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
