Job Overview
An outstanding opportunity for a skilled Cost Accounting professional looking to take the next step in their career with a well-respected and growing firm. This role will involve managing and analyzing the financial aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory management, and financial reporting. Your contributions will be crucial in driving cost efficiencies, optimizing pricing strategies, and supporting the company's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the Cost Accounting process
  • Establish and maintain standard costs for manufactured products
  • Analyze cost variances (material, labor, overhead) and recommend cost-saving strategies
  • Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate reporting of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and financial records
  • Account for scrap, rework, and obsolete inventory
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management
  • Guide the Senior Accountant in Cost Accounting functions to maintain processes
  • Manage monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Provide audit support as needed
  • Potential for transition into the Accounting Manager role, if desired
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to manufacturing costs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a cost accounting role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
  • Proficiency in cost accounting modules within ERP systems, preferably Microsoft AX
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and demonstrate strong personal accountability
  • Familiarity with the general ledger accounts supporting financial statements

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
