Position: Staff or Senior Accountant

Company Overview:
A private, PE-backed organization in the renewable energy construction sector is seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. With over two decades of industry presence, this company focuses on large-scale solar and diversified energy services, supporting top contractors, private industries, and public utilities across the United States. Under a new leadership team, the business is experiencing significant growth and is poised for further expansion through 2025.

Location and Work Environment:

  • On-site presence preferred 3-4 days per week
  • Collaborative office environment with close interaction between field and office teams

Technology & Systems:

  • Construction-specific ERP system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Potential adoption of additional software solutions

Role Overview:
The Staff or Senior Accountant will support the company's continued growth by focusing on general accounting, monthly close processes, and collaboration with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable managers. This role may also involve cost accounting projects that directly influence business decisions. The position requires adaptability in a fast-paced setting and offers high visibility to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate invoices for accuracy in collaboration with AP and AR managers
  • Post receivables to the general ledger and prepare journal entries
  • Upload and maintain data reports, ensuring robust control procedures
  • Contribute to cost accounting initiatives to inform strategic decisions
  • Process voids and reversals as needed
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting functions for improved efficiency
  • Prepare credit applications, vendor references, and lien waivers
  • Manage credit card monitoring and reporting, including issuing cards for field staff
  • Oversee tax documentation and support tax-related requirements
  • Customize internal reports and analyze processes for continuous improvement
  • Prepare accrual and allocation entries for month-end close, as well as depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Reconcile financial accounts and investigate any discrepancies in the general ledger
  • Complete annual 1099-NEC filings

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with general financial accounting and cost accounting concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability to evolving processes and willingness to drive continuous improvement

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
