We seek a highly motivated and analytical Senior Accountant to play a critical role in our clients financial operations. This individual will manage complex accounting functions, drive process improvements, and provide essential support to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Core Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Closing: Execute and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Accruals & Reconciliations: Develop and maintain accurate month-end expense accruals. Perform detailed account reconciliations, proactively addressing discrepancies and escalating issues as needed. Audit Support & Compliance: Manage audit requests related to financial statement audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Complex Accounting Tasks: Handle diverse accounting duties, including revenue analysis, fixed asset management, and intercompany expense management. Process Improvement & Problem Solving: Identify and implement enhancements to workflows and internal controls, minimizing risks and streamlining manual processes. Independently resolve complex operational problems. Project Participation: Actively participate in firm-wide and departmental projects, potentially taking a lead role in initiatives. Management Support: Serve as a backup and resource for department management and accounting staff, addressing ad-hoc tasks and providing expert guidance. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the financial services industry (clearing/investment firm, trading firm, bank, trust company). Demonstrated experience in Public Accounting. Exceptional attention to detail, initiative, and adaptability. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification. Experience with NetSuite accounting software. Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with complex formulas and data analysis.
