Audiology Technician; Newborn Hearing Screener

This position handles basic newborn hearing screening testing (automated auditory brainstem response and otoacoustic emission testing) conducted on all newborns in the University of Virginia well-baby, transitional, and NICU nurseries prior to their discharge.
Provide coverage every Monday or every Thursday in addition to coverage Friday - Sunday twice a month.
Education: High School Degree or equivalent. After hire, completed newborn hearing screening training with a clinical audiologist. Experience: None. Basic knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer. Basic word processing skills required. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, climbing (ladder, steps) and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
