Job Summary
Drexel University Counseling Center (DUCC) has an opening for a full-time staff therapist to provide direct psychological services to undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates must possess either a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology). The candidate must be license eligible to practice in Pennsylvania.
This is a year-round Counseling Center Staff position. This position will provide culturally informed direct client care to students at Drexel University. This person will also engage in consultation services; may provide supervision to trainees and share crisis on-call responsibilities. The Staff Psychologist may provide virtual therapy services and participate in general Student Affairs functions as a member of an Office within Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).
This position is expected to work primarily in-person with opportunities to provide tele-health several times a month.
Essential Functions
- Provide culturally informed individual counseling, group therapy, initial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral services to students.
- Be available to provide brief intervention, drop-in hours, outreach and consultation for Student Health Center primary care patients and referrals.
- Demonstrate commitment, skill and experience in diversity and inclusion programming and clinical expertise in working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.
- Provide consultation to faculty, staff and administration regarding students.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups, support groups, and conduct workshops on mental health-related topics.
- May provide supervision to trainees.
- Maintain APA professional ethics in all areas.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision.
- Attend Counseling Center Staff meetings; divisional meetings as needed.
- Additional tasks as assigned by Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Must be licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or eligible to acquire a license within a year of employment.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students with multiple marginalized identities, international students, and experience working with non-traditional students.
- Excellent culturally informed counseling, crisis intervention and communication skill.
- Good organizational and computer skills.
- Ability to work 1 evening per week.
- Ability to act as back-up while on-call for emergency crisis services a few times a year.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year full-time supervised internship in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting, preferably APA accredited.
- Experience providing personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and consultation to late adolescent/early adult population or undergraduate and graduate students in a college or university setting (internship acceptable).

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630 - $93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
