Georgia-Pacific Consumer Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified professionals to consider for an Engineering Leader role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Zachary, LA. The Port Hudson facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue and paper towel products in a progressive production environment. The Engineering Leader at Georgia-Pacific is responsible for overseeing the engineering, quality, learning and development teams driving the successful execution of projects that improve manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and ensure operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement. What You Will Do * Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture * Partner closely with all departments to advance mill priorities and achieve results * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment * Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines * Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality across manufacturing operations * Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering, quality, learning and development teams and other departments, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards * Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, safety, and quality, to achieve common goals and resolve issues * Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with financial objectives * Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Experience supervising and developing people leaders within an industrial, manufacturing, or other production environment * Experience in the paper and pulp industry or a similar manufacturing environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and influence teams * Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on results * Familiarity with relevant engineering, manufacturing and quality standards and regulations What Will Put You Ahead * Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field); advanced degree preferred * Minimum of 8-10 years of engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role * Strong project management skills and experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
