Overview:

Veeco in Plainview, NY, is offering an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join our team as an Electrical Engineer. You'll gain valuable experience in a wide range of areas, including AC/DC design, motion control, robotics, and the integration of OEM components. You'll be involved in New Product Development (NPD), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), and Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), providing a diverse and challenging learning environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Participates in Engineer-To-Order (ETO), CIP, obsolescence and sustaining design activities, including engineering drawing creation and modifications, utilizing CAD & Microsoft Office tools.
  • Design and modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings/specifications.
  • Select and specify system and subsystem power and control components utilized within semiconductor processing tools.
  • Work with the Mechanical and Software Engineering groups in all phases of product development and testing.


  • Coordinate and perform validation testing, providing feedback on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements.
  • Conduct subsystem qualification testing for reliability.
  • Provide system and subsystem integration support during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.
  • Support Manufacturing and Field Service teams to ensure smooth product transitions.


  • Debug and diagnose issues on systems, assisting Manufacturing, Field Service, and Technical Product Support with resolution of tool issues.
  • Create and release engineering drawings and documentation through the Veeco ECO process
  • Assist with developing technical documentation that meets the defined quality standards for Manufacturing and Field Service teams.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:



  • Capability to read, create, and troubleshoot analog and digital schematics.
  • Experience with integrating third-party devices into existing designs.
  • A critical thinker, always anticipating holistic system effects of localized design decisions, challenging design concepts and analyzing best alternatives.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a cross-functional team in a matrixed organization.
  • Hands on experience with lab equipment, including logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • CE, UL, TUV, and RoHS experience preferred.
  • Experience with vacuum equipment and robotics in a cleanroom environment a plus.
  • Motion control and PLC experience a plus.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to customer sites and/or supplier facilities on an as-needed basis



The expected salary range for this position is $67,236.00 - $85,165.60, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
