PURPOSE:
The successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of control software applications for high precision manufacturing machines, working individually and in teams, supporting our automation initiatives. The candidate has very strong C#/C++ programming and debugging skills, and work experience in machine control and multi-threaded/multi-process environments. Successful candidate is passionate about Machine automation and will be expected to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the field of automation and software development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Software development for all phases of the product lifecycle including requirements, design (architectural and low-level) code and integration for our software products.
- Software maintenance and support of assigned software products.
- Configuration management tool support.
- Work closely with application engineers and marketing personnel to clarify and establish software products for assigned projects.
- Work with software development group to identify and rebuild as needed.
- Responsible for rapid prototyping and document user interface and user workflows.
- Project manager for dedicated projects, using FFI approved CPM processes.
- Work closely with immediate manager on team goals and objectives.
- Maintain contacts with external software suppliers
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of the occupational safety, fire and environmental protection.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- BS degree+5-year experience or MS+2-year experience or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering (with a strong programming background), or similar
- Several years of professional experience in the development of software applications
- Expertise in the development of software in Visual C++ C#.net is required
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with diverse business teams
- First management experience desirable
- Knowledge of electrical control and drive technology is desirable
- Experience with WinForms and WPF and in programming B&R controllers is a plus
- Good general physics knowledge, especially in optics/pattern recognition/photometry is helpful
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other MS Office tools required
- Good team and interpersonal skills
The pay range for this role in Beaverton, Oregon (with Remote option) is between $115,800 and $151,935. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
