Position Summary
This Research Technician position will support various aspects of lab operations, including clinical specimen-based research. This will involve the acquisition, processing, storage, and organization of various clinical specimens. This will also include the execution of various techniques to analyze clinical specimens, including ELISA, immunohistochemistry, proximity ligation assays, and FISH. This position will support various other lab projects that will involve various sterile tissue culture techniques, qrt- PCR, Western blot analysis, as well as co-immunoprecipitation assays. This position will further assist with managing a limited number of mouse colonies, which will involve various basic mouse husbandry skills, breeding, PCR genotyping, administration of therapeutics, either via intraperitoneal injection or via oral route, and tumor volume measurements. Finally, this position will assist in basic lab operations, including ordering, inventory, and maintaining the electronic database of lab materials and reagents. The individual in this position is expected to maintain an organized scientific notebook, attend weekly group lab meetings, and attend one-on-one meetings with the lab PI every other week.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior lab experience, including basic laboratory techniques including tissue culture, qrt- PCR, PCR and Western blot.
Prior experience with mouse handling and breeding.
Must be organized and able to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience with immunohistochemistry, ELISA, proximity ligation assays, and FISH is preferred.
