Sr. Engineering Manager, Product Industrialization

Description Summary:

We're looking for a passionate engineering leader to join our team that is driving transformation and change across an extensive product portfolio. This role is key member of a multi-year program that is chartered to simplify our portfolio of existing products and to drive functional excellence and modernization into our operations. This product portfolio includes a wide range of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic controls products used in HVAC & Refrigeration Control Systems and Building Management Systems. This modernization will include implementation of design changes to improve the product, to simplify the portfolio as well as to optimize manufacturing (DFM). This role will specifically mange the Industrialization Team of engineers and designers and the workflow for evaluating and updating engineering documentation (drawings, Specs, BoMs etc.), issuing engineering changes and modernizing development practices and tools etc. This role will also manage a support team of contract designers and engineers supporting the various workstreams of the program.

Profile of ideal candidate

  • BS degree in Eng. (EE, ME, or other equivalent technical field) with 15yrs of overall experience with at least 5 yrs of experience in engineering management.

  • Solid understanding of the engineering industrialization process, workflow and documentation needed to transition products from development into manufacturing and to change products already in productions.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate with considerable autonomy.

  • Ability to effectively develop and present concise reports to senior leadership

  • Willing to travel (including internationally) to support teams and products designed and/or manufactured in various locations

  • Has the interpersonal skills and agility to navigate across organizational boundaries.

  • Has a strong business acumen and strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage remote teams and contractors, including teams in India
