What You'll Do
We're seeking a Cloud Operations Manager with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to lead and optimize our cloud infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring high service reliability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence through cloud-native solutions and SRE principles. You'll manage a team of infrastructure engineers, oversee cloud financial operations, and drive automation in infrastructure management.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud governance, monitoring, and DevOps, with experience leading teams and ensuring compliance with security best practices.
Position requires a hybrid work model with three days in-office per week. Salary range is $95,000 - $110,000 plus 12.50% annual discretionary bonus.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure Management


  • Manage and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure strategies, including architecture decisions, resource utilization, and cloud-native implementations.
  • Drive cloud service reliability using SRE practices, including:

    • Establishing and monitoring Cloud Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
    • Implementing automated alerting and incident response systems
    • Enhancing cloud performance through data-driven metrics and optimizations


  • Implement comprehensive cloud cost governance and optimization strategies.
  • Design and maintain cloud-native monitoring and observability solutions.
  • Oversee multi-cloud integrations to support data processing and analytics.


Team Leadership & Strategy


  • Lead the Cloud Infrastructure Team, establishing clear OKRs and fostering a DevOps culture.
  • Mentor and develop team members in cloud technologies and operational best practices.
  • Build strong partnerships with cloud service providers and managed services partners.
  • Oversee cloud financial operation initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.


Security & Compliance


  • Implement cloud-native security principles and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards and maintain robust threat protection.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Design resilient cloud architectures to ensure operational stability.


Operational Excellence


  • Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps automation.
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure deployments.
  • Define and monitor cloud service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Optimize vendor relationships and cloud contracts to maximize efficiency.



Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise


  • 7+ years of cloud operations experience with extensive expertise in Azure (primary)
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, reliability engineering, and cloud optimization.
  • Strong background in cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • 5+ years of experience leading cloud infrastructure or platform engineering teams.


Cloud Operations Skills


  • Strong cloud cost governance and financial operations expertise.
  • Proven experience in cloud performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Success in cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Effective project management skills for cloud operations.



Education & Certifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Required: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Required: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Plus: AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
  • Plus: Relevant DevOps or SRE certifications.



This role is ideal for a cloud operations leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at driving automation and efficiency, and can scale cloud infrastructure while ensuring reliability and security.
