Transporting patients and keeping working areas clean and orderly are a few of the primary responsibilities. This posting is a Transfer/Promotional opportunity for UCD/UCDHS Employees (internal candidates). Applications from current UCD/UCDHS employees will be considered first. Minimum Qualifications

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR Certification
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience transporting patients in an inpatient setting
  • 1. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal communication and relationships.
  • 2. Ability to set priorities, organize work Independently.
  • 3. Ability to handle or cope under stressful situations.
  • 4. Ability to prioritize own duties.
  • 5. Knowledge of conducting Quality Assurance monitors pertinent to assigned areas.
  • 6. Knowledge of emergent and routinely used equipment.
  • 7. Knowledge of handling delicate equipment (Doppler, Scanner, portable O2 Saturation Monitor, CPAP Monitors).
  • 8. Knowledge of handling infectious waste and hazardous materials.
  • 9. Ability to read and write.
  • 10. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • 11. Ability to push and pull gurneys.
  • 12. Physical strength to assist in moving and/or lifting patients.
  • 13. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • 14. Willingness and ability to work in multiple PACU locations as assigned, see Section 2: Brief description.
  • 15. Ability to assist OR with similar duties on a case by case basis as assigned. These duties must be within the specific ORA's trained skills and abilities being before performed independently.

Work Environment

This position is directly responsible for providing support to Perioperative Services locations across UC Davis Health.
