Position Summary |
The Application Analyst Associate will play an important role within the Student Information Systems (
SIS) team, supporting the effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the
SIS platform. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders to assist with the institution's academic and administrative functions, providing technical support, and helping ensure that the
SIS platform meets the changing needs of students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate should have a foundational knowledge of software development principles, including design patterns, code structure, programming languages, continuous integration, and deployment processes. The Application Analyst Associate will provide ongoing analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance services for Student Financials Applications and other system solutions as needed. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Foundational knowledge in software development within an ERP environment and an eagerness to grow in a hands-on role.
- Experience or coursework in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS, with an interest in learning other technologies like ReactJS, NodeJS, PL/SQL, and XML as needed.
- Basic understanding of UX principles and methodologies to assist in creating user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
- Familiarity with API protocols (SOAP, REST) and authentication methods (PKI, OAuth, JWT), with a desire to build skills in REST API development and system integration.
- Awareness of current UI development trends and an enthusiasm for integrating new solutions to enhance user experience.
- Exposure to version control using Git and an understanding of basic workflows such as branching, merging, and pull requests.
- Interest in learning CI/CD pipeline tools and processes, such as GitLab, to support automated build, test, and deployment tasks.

Technical Support and Collaboration: Provide technical assistance to SIS staff and core functional clients (Admissions, Registrar, Curriculum, Financial Aid, and Bursar) to support, enhance, and maintain services related to student information systems. Collaborate with colleagues on the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance of application programs. Be on call for critical/core systems/application support 24/7.

Application Development and UI Design: Design, code, test, create prototypes/mockups, implement and document complex programs, program modifications, or applications for the Student/Financial Aid system using coding languages such as Java, ReactJS, NodeJS, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and others as needed for specific job responsibilities. Design graphic elements such as menus, tabs, widgets, as well as user-friendly, visually appealing landing pages to enhance user experience and usability.
