Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership and be accountable for execution and program management of product strategies and performance
  • Collaborate with others through matrix leadership to resolve highly complex business variables that affect affordability strategies
  • Provide product leadership and oversight of Individual & Family Plan product performance through collaboration across the Individual & Family Plan business
  • Achieve or exceed product growth and profitability initiatives
  • Provide solid quantitative and qualitative analysis of underlying factors driving current product strategy performance and vendor partner performance
  • Predict emerging consumer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
  • Understand key competitor product strategies and profitability drivers
  • Think strategically and creatively, translating a vision to processes and product requirements
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external vendor partners in service of product strategies
  • Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing

Required Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of healthcare experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in product strategy, product development and / or implementation, through addressing consumer segment needs and competitive positioning
  • Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing data to understand underlying factors driving Individual & Family Plan product performance
  • Proficiency in product financial performance, including product pricing drivers



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strategy and Finance experience
  • Individual Market insurance experience with knowledge of state & federal regulatory requirements
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and/or managing external vendors for partnerships designed to provide solutions to business needs
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven solid communication skills (persuasive written, oral, and presentation skills) including leading discussions with business and market leaders

  • Solution-oriented mindset, with ability to analyze all necessary quantitative and qualitative information sources and synthesize into fact-based decisions and recommendations
  • Ability to develop product strategy that optimizes profitability with low-margin offering
  • This is a highly visible role and requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • A growth mindset is required for this growing business segment, requiring a person who is open to taking on new challenges and embracing them

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
