Student Involvement at Auburn University seeks candidates for the position of Coordinator, Student Programs - Service Programs. Student Involvement provides students an opportunity to engage with the co-curricular experience at Auburn University. Student Involvement is comprised of six portfolios: Leadership Programs, Service Programs, Student Governance, Student Organizations, Student Media, and Student Programming. Service Programs includes three service-oriented student organizations: IMPACT, Auburn University Dream Makers, and the Beat Bama Food Drive, while also supporting other service-based student organizations and university initiatives.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Advise student leaders and oversee the development, planning, coordination, promotion, execution, and evaluation of service programs, events, and opportunities
  • Inspire and increase student body interaction in service programs, events, and opportunities
  • Build and manage relationships with community partners and service sites
  • Develop and coordinate effective outreach, marketing, and training strategies and materials for the campus community related to service programs
  • Manage and oversee service programs budgets and financial business
  • Train and advise student leaders to effectively lead their organizations and programs
  • Collaborate with campus partners on student-focused initiatives
  • Implement and manage risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all appropriate policies and procedures
  • Manage a digital platform to collect and promote service opportunities (GivePulse)
  • Attend and advise occasional service trips during academic breaks (traditionally a one-week trip in mid-December and a one-week trip during spring break)
  • Serve on university committees for student-related issues


This position requires an applicant who is willing to work long hours, sometimes nights and weekend hours.
The successful candidate should be a visionary who will bring a record of success to our highly committed team, have the expectation of contributing immediately, possess a sincere desire to serve our students and the surrounding community, demonstrate flexibility, and be able to think quickly on their feet and be committed to professional development. The successful candidate should also understand student development theories. The individual(s) in this position will report to the Assistant Director of Student Involvement (Leadership, Service, & Programming).

  • Familiarity with Anthology's Engage platforms
  • Familiarity with GivePulse community impact platform
  • Demonstrated leadership in initiating and implementing collaborative and educational programming among student groups and organizations
  • Demonstrated commitment to proactive open and effective communication with students, faculty, and staff to build and maintain collaborative relationships
